Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact enquires@nappirunz.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Nappy need or nappy poverty is a form of hygiene poverty.  It is the inability to afford enough nappies to maintain proper infant hygiene which in turn can impact a child's health leading to conditions like nappy rash and sores.  The impact on the mental health of the family can also not be ignored,

Although there is no formal statistical research on nappy poverty in the UK, a 2022 survey  conducted by Little Village* found that of the estimated 4 million children living in poverty in the UK, approximately 1.3 million are thought to be under the age of 5

At NappiRunz, we firmly believe nappy need is a problem we can solve together, through raising awareness and supporting our communities one donation at a time.

If you are in need of nappies or you are a charity/organisation or local professional working with families in need, please visit this page for more information and register your referral with us.

Thank you for thinking of us!  For a full list of our current donation points along with more information on what we accept, please visit this page.

Over the years NappiRunz has partnered with over a hundred local charities, organisations and professionals such as local food pantries, NHS Health visitors and womens aid.  For a recent up to date list of our current partner charities please visit this page.

We are an Edinburgh based charity, operating in The Lothians and Fife.  We would love to spread our wings and help further afield but as we rely on volunteers we currently do not have availability to collect or donate outwith these areas at the moment.  If you would like to learn more about volunteering with us please visit this page.

All donated nappies are collected regularly from the donation points.  From there, we sort through the donations in our office space, ensuring they meet our strict hygiene regulations.  Those which don't have to be thrown away and those which do are then sorted into sizes and stored ready to be repackaged.  Checking our referrals is an almost daily task, our volunteers will look through the referrals from our partner charities and then package each order ready to be delivered.  The recipient charity will then pass on to the families in need.

You can support families in need of nappies in lots of other ways too!

  • Can you spare an hour or two a week?  Volunteer with us!
  • Are you interested in fundraising?  We love a bake sale, a car boot or any other way you could help raise funds for NappiRunz!
  • If you would like to buy nappies for us, we have an amazon wishlist with the nappy size we are low on.
  • If you would like to donate money directly, we also have a Just Giving page.

All funds donated to NappiRunz go directly towards buying nappy sizes we don't have in stock, or running costs such as petrol money to allow us to collect and drop off nappies.
